Lauren's work is about heritage
I'm a fourth generation Alaskan Homesteader. My great grandparents came to Alaska in 1956 to find opportunity and a place to raise their kids, and here we are 70 years later doing the same. I've been drawing and painting since I could hold a crayon, and have been selling my work professionally since 2016. I've worked with my fair share of artistic mediums, but settled with oil on canvas being the best way to express my deep love for this state and its wilderness. I'm a member of Ptarmigan Arts Co-op Gallery here in Homer, and also have my work displayed in shops and lodges all across Alaska. I've sent prints and paintings all over the world for the wonderful people who choose to commemorate their Alaskan experience with a piece of my work. What an honor.
I strive to tell a piece of my story with every painting I create. Some tell of my rich heritage in this land, others of overcoming adversity, creating stillness, or standing in awe of the one who made the mountains. Thank you for being here and sharing my love for beautiful art.
